2008 MAY IS HEARING AND SPEECH MONTH
- CAMPAIGN IN FULL SWING -

     The Elks and Royal Purple of Canada have significantly increased public awareness of hearing and speech disorders in Canadian children.
     Much of our success is due to the annual May Campaign when Elks and Royal Purple members endeavour to spread the message about the importance of early detection and treatment of hearing impairments.
     Plan to be involved in the 2008 campaign! Whether it's through tag days, collection boxes, flag raisings or distributing placemats, there's something for everyone.
     As in past years, the national office has prepared a number of FREE materials to assist you in promoting May as Hearing and Speech Month.

PLACEMATS

     The distribution of placemats during the month of May is an excellent vehicle for promoting the efforts of Elks and Royal Purple members across Canada. Restaurants coast to coast have been very receptive to the idea.
     On the back of the placemat there is a children's colouring poster. This has proven to be so successful that we have increased production of the placemats this year to 1.2 million. That’s 1.2 million opportunities to put our name and logo in front of the Canadian public. If you haven’t considered distributing the placemats before, there has never been a better time to do it!

HEARING AND SPEECH PIN

We have supplies of Elks and Royal Purple “May is Hearing and Speech Month” pins at the office for sale at a cost of $2.00 each. At this price, you can even re-sell the pins as a fundraising idea. We hope you decide to include this pin in your May plans.
